About UsThe International Biological Information System (IBIS) is a consortium of researchers dedicated to providing information technology tools to help collect, manage, map, and model the world's biological field data.VisionOur long term vision is to help conserve biological resources by building tools to help those involved in conservation make science based decisions that result in direct conservation outcomes.MissionOur short term mission is to collect field data on the location of species of interest from a wide group of providers, integrate the data across these groups, provide fast access to the data in both text and spatial forms (e.g., maps), provide access to species distribution modeling tools and results, and provide the ability to extract these data through downloadable files and web services. We are especaially interested in invasive species, threatened and endangered species, and species of concern. |
