CitSci.orgWhat Is CitSci.org?CitSci.org is an IBIS website designed to meet the spatial information management needs of citizen science organizations. CitSci.org is a website that allows citizen science organizations and their volunteers to streamline data collection, management, mapping, and analysis. Citizen science program directors can create online projects for their volunteers. They can create online data entry forms which can then be used by their volunteers to enter data, print for use in the field, or download to PDA units for easier data entry. Contributed data can then be viewed on an interactive map application, queried, downloaded, printed, and analyzed. We are starting to work on built-in spatial modeling features! We are funded by National Science Foundation (NSF) under grant OCI-0636213. The web site is based on the Global Organism Detection and Monitoring (GODM) system, a joint effort by Colorado State Univeristy's Natural Resource Ecology Laboratory, the National Aeronatics and Space Administration (NASA), and the United States Geological Survey (USGS) under the supervision of the National Institute of Invasive Species Science. |
