Welcome to Planting the Seed!

This site is designed to assist educators in teaching students about ecology and the natural resources, through hands-on laboratory and field activities and a citizen-science approach to data collection and analysis. We provide various activities associated with ecological concepts like invasive species and phenology, that can be applied to any setting in which you may be teaching.

Combine all of that with a growing database of measurements from classes that have previously used the approach, and you have a resource for teaching not only ecology, but also in measurement, the scientific method, and collaboration with others.
