Further Information - Invasive Species

Invasive species can vary greatly throughout the United States and beyond. Species, home ranges, and invasive status are highly variable across an area, and depending upon location, a given plant may or may not be invasive. Therefore, it is imperative that we work to study the trends across both time and space regarding invasive species, to most efficiently manage for current and future status and invasions.

The National Institute of Invasive Species Science (NIISS) offers a database of invasive plants that are currently being monitored across the US, as well as data collection and analysis information, and is a good resource for information on invasive species, both general and specific.

More information about invasive species can be found on websites like the United States Government's National Invasive Species Information Center, or the National Invasive Species Council's website.

The University of Georgia's Center for Invasive Species and Ecosystem Health also provides comprehensive information, photos, distribution maps, and videos about invasive species of North America.
