Sample Data: Phenology Exercises

The data collected for Phenology can be used to determine changes in the plant community, in response to man-made changes, or climate change. Other teachers, scientists, and students alike have access to the data that you collect, if you choose to register and submit your findings to Project BudBurst online.

Because Project BudBurst is a community of scientists, educators, and students, you also have access to the data that has been submitted to the website from other observers. You can visit Project BudBurst's results page, to look at recently-submitted data and observations, as well as data by phenophase or plant type. The site offers an interactive map of the 100 most recent observations, showing users what others have observed, and giving them an idea of what to observe.

The National Phenology Network also offers data to its users through its data page. From there, you can get access to historical phenology datasets, or register and become an observer for the organization.
